What is Aquaponics?Aquaponics is a closed-loop hybrid system that combines organic farming, hydroponics (soiless plant culture), and recirculating aquaculture. This creates an ecosystem in which both fish and plants can thrive. Raising crops in this method is natural, sustainable, safe and uses one-tenth of the water that traditional field cultivation methods require. To learn more about this unique method click on the "Eco-System" tab in our menu or visit our blog title "What is Aquaponics?"...

What is the difference between Marijuana and Hemp?In the U.S., the level of THC is a legal defining line between hemp and marijuana. Hemp is defined as a cannabis plant that contains 0.3% THC or less, while marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3% THC (the intoxicating phytocannabinoid). Though they both are a part of the same family (cannabis) hemp and marijuana have different chemistry and characteristics. While that distinction, in some ways seems arbitrary, it has become a clear enough standard that new varieties of cannabis plants are bred with this threshold in mind giving way to the legal hemp industry.

Is Hemp legal in the US?Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill classified hemp (or cannabis with less than 0.3% delta-9 THC) as an ordinary agricultural commodity under federal law.

What are CBD, CBG, and other cannabinoids?"CBD and CBG are two separate cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. They have their own unique flavor profiles and provide different benefits for the human body. Unlike THC, CBD and CBG do not produce psychoactive effect. CBD is known for its potential therapeutic properties while CBG is becoming increasingly known for its potential pharmacological properties. Although promising, the role of CBG for medical use has not yet been studied in clinical trials.

What's the difference between Indoor/Aquaponic and Outdoor?Where and how the CBD and CBG flowers are grown and harvested can have a significant role on the potency, flavor, and appearance of the hemp plants. State laws legalizing the production of hemp have afforded more options for a hemp cultivator, and in Maryland, we can offer hemp products of each kind. Indoor/Aquaponically grown hemp is cultivated within our Controlled Environment greenhouse, ultilizing our unique eco-system approach. By combining an aquaculture system (fish production) and a hydroponic system (growing crops with nutrient rich water) we create an eco-system in which natural symbiotic relationships provide an organic source of nutrients to the hemp plants as they filter the water for the fish. Please visit the "eco-system" tab in our menu for more info. Outdoor grown hemp is produced naturally in Mountain Maryland soil. Grown under the sun and exposed to the natural elements, this method of cultivation does not allow us the level of control over reaching the optimum potential of the hemp as our Indoor/Aquaponically method. Both methods produce a premium product, but our unique Indoor/Aquaponic method allows us to produce a more flavorful and cannabinoid rich product.
